RideBack episode 8

Rin is not YET a terrorist

Wow! What an espisode. We got gunfights and ridebacking action this week. What could I ask more? Things have definitely heated up. The mysterious black-wearing dude was revealed to be a former comrade of Big nose and the GGP head, but he’s a full on terrorist who now leads the BMA. So basically the story this week is that the GGP, tired of cat-and-mouse games with the guerilla force, decides to do one of Sun Tzu’s mistakes to avoid—sending their army charging like ants and losing badly afterwards.

Finally, some bit of backstory about the GGP was given. So they did start as a terrorist group themselves, but won a war using radical technology (RideBacks). The BMA? Nah. They aren’t half the shadow GGP is in terms of guerilla innovation. The BMA at this point is just a nuisance and a run-of-the-mill militia who could hardly resist a military skirmish without their MVP.

So where does this leave Rin? I take back what I said about her not riding RideBacks in the future. It turned out that she did. Obviously, she’s a targeted girl. But she ain’t a terrorist either. Sitting there in the rear doesn’t count as combat experience. However, chances are high that she’ll eventually fight for the BMA, given that reason and the fact that she’s got the hots for Kiefer. It’s painted all over her face when she saw him do a Rideback somersault. Man, why do the bad boys get the chicks? But, a BIG but, ain’t her brother still a detainee? What about it? Does it bother her at this point? Or did Fuego serve as a better brother than her human sibling? Of course that must be tackled.

Shikabane Hime Kuro episode 8

Ouri's a dead man.
By the looks of it, he is, in more ways than one. First, he's already dead. That little backstory about him being picked up from a pile of corpses is the only useful piece of plot advancement in this episode. Second, if he ain't a corpse, someone's out to kill him to cut Makina off his rune. Either way, Ouri's dead. No matter how others may try to rescue him, it seems that Ouri's a target for danger.

With the war between the Kougon and Shichisei reaching the boiling point, both sides (or maybe the just the Kougon) resolve to destroy the other decisively. The shichisei are still wishy-washy and are still reluctant to send out their unstable superweapon, Hokuto. Anyway, unstable weapons are best left unused, especially when they are not capable of controlling it. They themselves said it, that thing is beyond what they are, corpses. Makina's keeping her busy to no avail, as she stuck in the cycle of getting pwned and recovering ad infinitum at Ouri's expense.

All in all, this episode is not that outstanding. We only get one important hint about Ouri's identity while the other scenes were typical shounen lore. I've seen too much KuroKami-style avatar-fighter-relationships. This ain't anything new, and I would like to see more Makina pwnage than Makina getting pwned.

Stay tuned.

While waiting, because I'm kinda lazy today

I'm feeling lazy. Maybe it's because I have nothing to do except go pump iron in an hour.

To avoid getting bored, please watch this Marimite video. The Sei/Shiori story is the one that really made me follow this series after taking notice of it through fanarts. Until now, no pair has ever matched that one episode story (Rei/Yoshino comes a very close second, but that means even they fell short). Notice how they look younger back then :0

In the meanwhile, I'll listen to Tim Skold and this Turkish band named Manga. Don't worry though, Shikabane Hime Kuro episode 8 will be next in a few hours.

White Album episode 9

Touya can learn the "Law of diminishing returns".

Our favorite Hero to hate strikes again, this time he's being the same Casanova that he usually is... A Casa fucking Nova. I don't know the reason why Girls flock to get a piece of the shithead, but whatever it is, it doesn't change the fact that he is dumb. For all the time Touya spent making costumes and the subsequent alienation from Yuki, Misaki shows her true colors this episode and declares it all a lie and that she only used Touya and she doesn't feel an ounce of love towards him. This of course shocks Touya, who had no choice but to GTFO, leaving Akira to salvage the scrap heap called Misaki's phail.

Now that he's regretting all he did, maybe, just maybe Touya will stop this shit and go back to Yuki. Though personally I've been more a Misaki fan than of Yuki before this, but it's evident that even such a thick-skinned guy like Touya got hurt by her revelation... So that puts Misaki out of contention at the meantime. Too bad, because in the moments before that, I thought Misaki had a solid chance of getting it, but the truth hurts, eh?

On a side note, Yuki's situation is no better. She's obviously a rising star, so she won't be able to be the perfect girlfriend for Touya. We've seen countless instances in this series, so whatever's between them is a de facto dead end. This leaves Touya with Rina (an established star with even less time), Haruka (a certified damaged good with no prospect of providing a decent relationship), Mana (a brat who's is simply not fit for him) and Yayoi (the seductive doll who has the best chances among them) Wait a minute, didn't I just mention 4 girls? Plus 2, that makes 6 girls? So Touya's been playing with 6 girls. SIX GIRLS!?

To hell with Touya, I've got Zero! watching him kiss 2 girls in one sitting makes me sick (with envy of course)
